Heal

Our Healing Ministries: Healing Services, Faith Community Nurse, Healthy Body

One of the most striking features of Jesus' ministry and of early Christianity is its strong emphasis on free healing.  This healing encompasses all aspects of the person - physical, mental, emotional, memories, and relationships.  God calls us at Peace Lutheran Church to the gospel of Christ, which includes release from sin and sickness and healing for abundant life!

Healing Services: Please join us the second Sunday of each month for our healing service, immediately following the 9:30am communion service.  Please note: the healing service is an extension of the teachings, prayers, and eucharist of that service, so you should be sure to come at 9:30.  Both the eucharist service and the healing service are based on Jesus' living presence, so you don't want to miss the whole experience.

Faith Community Nurse: This ministry is led by Linda, our registered nurse.  It has at least these four functions:

  • Educator, helping us explore the relations between values, attitudes, lifestyle, faith, and healing.
  • Counselor, discussing health issues and problems with individuals and making visits as needed.
  • Referrer to other congregational and community resources.
  • Facilitator of volunteers to serve in various health ministries.
  • If you have any questions or would like help, please contact either our FCN Linda (peacenurse@triton.net) or Pastor Mark (peacepastor@triton.net), or by phone 616-399-9000.

Healthy Body, Peace of MindThis new ministry, funded by an initial grant from Wheat Ridge Ministries, will help low-income persons with chronic health issues to find support, information, exercise, and motivation for long-term life changes.
